Literate alt-rock band the Decemberists will play all 17 tracks of their upcoming album, The Hazards of Love, live and in sequence, when they headline NPR’s music showcase at this year’s South By Southwest Festival. The annual Austin, Texas music festival takes place March 18-22. Also scheduled to appear: Devo, Ben Harper, rapper Wale, and Dent May and his Magnificent Ukulele

The Decemberists will take the stage at Stubb’s on the 18th, to be joined by Lavender Diamond’s Becky Stark and My Brightest Diamond’s Shara Worden (isn’t that diamond infringement?) –both contribute guest vocals on the new album, which comes out March 24th via Capitol.

The Hazards of Love finds the the Decemberists crafting another story-driven, interconnected album, as they did on 2006’s The Crane Wife, the band’s best-selling album to date. Other guests include My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and acclaimed singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock.
