ARTIST: Rob Vischer

SONG: “So In Love At Christmas Time”

BIRTHDATE: October 15, 1981

BIRTHPLACE: Oak Park, IL

AMBITIONS: The world is a classroom full of mysteries and adventures. As I explore it, I want to learn new things and write stories and songs about what I discover and the questions that remain unanswered. I also desire to write songs, perform and tour for a living. This year I’m writing a book about my bicycle trip across America and releasing Meant to Love, my first album in four years.

TURN-OFFS: Lazy minds. Barricaded hearts. The willingness to settle.

TURN-ONS: Creative risks. Fresh adventures. Beautiful stories. Lifelong learning. Deep friendships.

DREAM GIG: Playing at Red Rocks with Mumford & Sons, OneRepublic and Marc Scibilia.

FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITION: Hearing my dad read the real Christmas story from Luke. And getting trapped under the mistletoe by my wife.

CELEBRITY CRUSH: My wife is way hotter than any celebrity. Plus she can sing like an angel and loves sports even more than I do. What’s not to crush on?

MY GO TO FEEL-GOOD RECIPE: Food that I didn’t have to make + People that I love = A great meal! Other than that, I make a mean cheese quesadilla or frozen pizza.

5 THINGS EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN: A Bible. A clear conscience. Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Life is Beautiful, the movie. Work boots.

WORDS TO LIVE BY: You gotta have faith if you wanna believe in love.

I WROTE THIS SONG: after my producer challenged me to write a Christmas song. I was almost engaged to be married at the time, so naturally, I wrote it imagining what it would be like to be in love over the holidays. Turns out being “So In Love at Christmas Time” is even better than I had imagined. And it gets better every year!
