4AD Releases Benefit Compilation with Red Hot Organization

British indie label 4AD has just announced details for its upcoming release of a benefit compilation for the Red Hot Organization, an international charity that raises awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS relief.

British indie label 4AD has just announced details for its upcoming release of a benefit compilation for the Red Hot Organization, an international charity that raises awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS relief. The album, entitled Dark Was The Night, is set to come out February 17, 2009, and will feature 32 tracks by an impressive list of artists. The record was produced by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of the Brooklyn indie rock group The National and John Carlin, founder of the Red Hot Organization. Upon release, it will be available as a double CD, triple vinyl, and electronic download.

Since its establishment in 1989, Red Hot has used music as a means to alleviate international HIV/AIDS, with over 7 million dollars in donations to show for its efforts. Dark Was The Night will be the organization?’s 20th compilation release.
