Ratboys is an indie rock outfit from Chicago, Illinois who have been in the scene since 2010. Their sound is classically indie with a bit of noise thrown in, and their new album The Window was released in 2023. It includes the standout track “Morning Zoo,” which features a fiddle to give it a bit of a distinct folksy, post-country sound. Ratboys is made up of Julia Steiner, Dave Sagan, Marcus Nuccio, and Sean Neumann. They will be playing Third Man Records Blue Room in Nashville on November 22 along with youbet as support. Tickets are still on sale.
On November 14, Honeypuppy will be taking over The Five Spot in Nashville along with a selection of other bands like Volunteer Department and Jack Shit. Honeypuppy is a self-stylized “menace to society” from Athens, Georgia who released their debut EP Nymphet in January 2024. The four-piece has taken inspiration from iconic indie bands like Pavement to craft clever turns of phrase over unique musical stylings. On Halloween, they released a video for their new single “Dirty TV,” which immersed itself perfectly with the spooky season. Tickets for the show are still available.

Kandi and the Kavities is also joining Honeypuppy at The Five Spot on November 14. This relatively new band dropped their first single in May after forming in late 2023. The post-punk hip-hop five-piece has a unique sound that bends genre expectations. They blend post-punk and hip-hop with grunge to create their own avant-garde sonic experience. It will be interesting to see them live in an intimate venue as they work to become the “new face of Nashville music.”
On November 15, Delta Sleep will play Exit/In in Nashville with a host of support acts with them. The British math-rock four-piece formed in 2010 and is a staple of the subgenre. For the show, they’re bringing along Teen Suicide, Carpool Tunnel, and Khamsin for support. Delta Sleep released their fifth album, Blue Garden, in October 2024. Before that, they split from their label and formed their own independent outfit, Sofa Boy Records.
