4 of the Best Nardwuar Interviews of All Time

Nobody has mastered the art of the celebrity interview quite like Nardwuar the Human Serviette. He’s been interviewing bands and musicians for decades now, and he always leaves an impression by the end of each and every interview. Picking the best Nardwuar interviews out of hundreds is no easy task. The following four interviews are just a few gems worth revisiting; and we may have to make another list with more of his best interviews in the future.

1. N.E.R.D.

This 2008 interview with Pharrell Williams and the members of N.E.R.D. is one of Nardwaur’s most-viewed interviews on YouTube. He even gave ol’ Nard his seal of approval by saying “This is one of the most impressive interviews I’ve ever experienced in my life.”

If you’re not that familiar with Nardwaur and what he does, this is a good interview to start with.

2. Lil Uzi Vert

Lil Uzi Vert and Nardwuar recently reunited, and it was a touching moment. The two met in 2018 for Lil Uzi Vert’s interview, which birthed one of the most memorable moments of Nardwuar’s interviewing career.

During the 2018 interview, Nardwuar surprised the rapper by mentioning Rob Zombie. It earned a screeching laugh, but Lil Uzi Vert quickly followed up with “I’m glad I’m a good guy, cause if I was under investigation or something I’d be scared right now.” He then promptly ran away.

3. Snoop Dogg (Particularly in 2010)

Nardwuar and Snoop Dogg are two peas in a pod. He interviewed the rapper multiple times through the years, but this 2010 interview is one of the most memorable.

Nardwuar gifts Snoop an old video from 1996, which elicits a touching reaction. Apparently, he had been looking for that old VHS for years. Nardwaur really knows how to soften even the toughest musicians with his thoughtful gifts.

4. J. Cole

Nardwuar interviewed J. Cole back in 2021, and the video got a surprising amount of attention. The interview begins with a time jump back to 2019 in which Nardwuar asks J. Cole for an interview, but the rapper and record producer is unavailable. But, he does promise that an interview will happen in 2020.

A whole pandemic happened (in case you missed it) and the interview was put on the backburner. Then, finally, we got the interview we wanted; and it was a notably deep and hilarious one.
