3 Performances From Past Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades That Are Worth Revisiting

1. Miley Cyrus

For our first entry, we’re throwing things back to Miley Cyrus’ early days as a performer. The pop powerhouse took to a Bolt themed float to sing the theme song from the animated film. Cyrus’ appearance surely pleased many pre-teens who had come to know her as their favorite pop star. With this performance, Cyrus proved she had a strong stage presence long before she became a standalone singer, separated from the Disney vehicle.

Don’t know how I really feel
The faith it takes
That make it like I dont care
Dont know how much it hurts
To turn around like you were never there

2. KISS

Who doesn’t love KISS? They have been crowned kings of rock for a reason. It’s hard to not join in with the outfit when they gear up for “Rock and Roll All Nite.” Though it’s a little silly to see these rockers in full costume so early in the morning, no lineup suffers when KISS is involved. Their performance of this signature hit had no trouble wowing audiences.

I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day

3. Carrie Underwood

Though this entry might not have been in the parade per say, Carrie Underwood did pull out all the stops for her satellite performance of “Favorite Time of Year.” As one could probably guess, Underwood’s vocals were impossibly stellar here. Her soaring high notes were as impressive as they always have been. If you need a song to help get you into the holiday spirit, this is just the ticket.

Love pouring out like the snow from the sky
Snuggled up together sitting by the fire
Oh, it’s magical, it’s my favorite time
Pretty little wishes tied up in a bow
And every little kiss is like we’re underneath the mistletoe
It’s music to my ears
Christmas is my favorite time of year
