1. 8 Mile (2002)

If Eminem wasn’t a star by 2002, he was after the arrival of this film, which is loosely based on his life as an underground rapper in the run-down city of Detroit. But Em ends up triumphing in the end, in one way or another, showing his talents and then realizing the value of a hard day’s work. The soundtrack for this film was also a big deal, featuring the likes of Jay-Z as well as Eminem’s Oscar-winning song, “Lose Yourself.” Check out a trailer for this Curtis Hanson-directed movie below.

2. Funny People (2009)

This movie is about a comedian on his last leg, searching for inspiration and the meaning of life. So, while it doesn’t star Eminem, it does feature a hilarious cameo. Released in 2009 and directed by Judd Apatow, the film highlights what it can be like if you lose your edge. And Eminem, in the scene below, knows just how to twist the knife. He”s also hilarious, taking jabs at comedian Ray Romano.

3. The Wash (2001)

This 2001 comedy gets pretty serious when it comes to Eminem’s scenes, as you can see below. Playing a disgruntled fired employee, he threatens both verbally and with some heavy artillery. The movie also stars Em’s compatriots, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, who play roommates who owe rent. The solution for all of this? Start a car wash.
