2022 CMA Award Nominations Announced: Lainey Wilson Leads the Pack with Six Nods

Newcomer Lainey Wilson is the leader of the pack. The “Things a Man Oughta Know” singer found herself with six CMA Award nominations as the list of nominees for The 56th Annual CMA Award was announced on Wednesday morning (Sept. 7)

Wilson, a first-time nominee, is up for Album of the Year (Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’), Female Vocalist of the Year, Music Video of the Year (“Never Say Never”), Musical Event of the Year (“Never Say Never”), New Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year (“Things A Man Oughta Know”).

Following close behind with five nominations are Ashely McBryde, songwriter Shane McAnally, Carly Pearce, and Chris Stapleton. Cody Johnson grabs four nominations along with songwriter Josh Osborne, while Luke Combs, Hardy, Miranda Lambert, Midland, and Carrie Underwood snag three.

It’s a year of firsts as first-time CMA Awards nominees include, BRELAND, Alexa Campbell, Jack Clarke, Dan Grech-Marguerat, Jacob Davis, Dustin Haney, Walker Hayes, Josh Jenkins, Matt Jenkins, Jason Lehning, Blake Lively, Chip Matthews, Parker McCollum, Michael Monaco, Jason Nix, Mikey Reaves, Harper Smith, Trent Willmon, and Wilson.
