The Artist: Nashville music guru Jim Lauderdale
The Song: “I’m A Song,” the title track to his 26th album, which features co-writes with Elvis Costello, Bobby Bare, Gary Allan and Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter.
Fun Fact: Lauderdale’s “commercial breakthrough” came when George Strait recorded his song “The King Of Broken Hearts” for the Pure Country soundtrack.
Songwriter Says: “This is the first country record I’ve done in a while and it turned out to be a double album which is something I have always wanted to do.”
