Hear Carrie Rodriguez’s New Album Give Me All You Got

Videos by American Songwriter

We’ve been following Austin-based fiddler/songwriter Carrie Rodriguez since her first album with “Wild Thing” scribe Chip Taylor, back in 2002. After seeing her perform at SXSW, Taylor took the young, promising musician under his wing, and together they recorded five acclaimed LPs. In addition to recording with John Mayer, Patty Griffin and Los Lonely Boys, she’s since released five solo albums of her own. The latest is Give Me All You Got,due January 22.

“During a recent tour in Germany, a few people at various concerts told me that my music gave them a ‘feeling of intense’,” Rodriguez tells American Songwriter. “I wasn’t sure how to take that at first, wondering what might be lost in translation. On further rumination, however, I decided that it was a fine compliment and a fairly accurate description of the songs from my new album, Give Me All You Got. These new original tunes run the gamut of intense emotions, from heartache to budding new love, from betrayal to resigned acceptance, and finally to the sheer joy of simply being alive.”

“For the first time, I feel that the passionate spirit of my live show has truly been captured in a studio album. The experienced and artful producer Lee Townsend led the way, and I was surrounded by my closest friends, who have shared many miles and much music with me over the years. We made this record with our hearts open and our eyes closed. I hope you enjoy listening.”

Rodriguez will embark on a tour of the U.S. on January 18. Check out the dates, and stream the album, below.
